AHA/ACC HCM Risk Factors

The AHA/ACC Risk Factors are established markers of higher risk for future, potentially life-threatening ventricular tachyarrhythmias. For those patients that demonstrate these risk markers, implantable cardioverter defribrillators may be beneficial. The strength of ICD recommendations are as outlined in the 2020 AHA/ACC Guidelines for the the Diagnosis and treatment of Patients with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (Ommen et al.).
